Welcome to Breakthrough Base of Muhlenberg County. We are a non-profit outreach center in Central City, KY, dedicated to empowering unhoused and underserved individuals. Our mission is to provide comprehensive support, fostering healing, growth, and a pathway to self-sustainability for our neighbors.

"Breakthrough Base of Muhlenberg County, the very much needed, first of it's kind in modern, Muhlenberg history, even though still in it's infant stages, has been a health and life saver for the unhoused community already by working very hard to provide various places of emergency shelter via donations when dangerously cold weather strikes. Not only do they work to do that, but they provide much needed, basic resources for those in need, such as gently used clothing, shoes, outerwear, hygiene, donated food items, etc. They provide volunteer opportunities for those in need of volunteer hours as well, a great benefit for those needing hours for SNAP or other requirements. I really look forward to seeing the Base grow. They have so many exciting and much needed plans to help our community even more as the funding provides, basic things that are in extreme need, as in showers, laundry care and an industrial kitchen so that certified food workers can help provide better nutrition for those in need. Our community has needed someone to take this first step in officially serving the underserved for quite a long time now, a place that folks can simply do a search for, so that they can see that MUHLENBERG also has at least one softer place to land when times are hardest and I am so thankful for the brave souls who are doing this. - A friend of the Base who APPRECIATES their help and KNOWS that the Base is the right step in improving any community"

Access to vital resources including warm showers, laundry facilities, nutritious food, clean clothing, and essential hygiene items.

Administrative support

Assistance with obtaining crucial legal identification, Social Security cards, and birth certificates to navigate essential processes.

Rehabilitation & housing

Comprehensive case management for job searches, stable housing solutions, mental health support, and vital substance abuse services.

Emergency relief

Our 'White Flag' shelter provides crucial emergency refuge during periods of extreme hot or cold weather, ensuring immediate safety.
